Eudora AppleScripts

Last updated: 12.01.2001

AppleScripts written for use with Eudora Light or Eudora Pro from Qualcomm. These scripts can most easily be used from the Scripts menu of Eudora Pro 5, or from the script menu provided by John Delacour's Scripts Plugin in earlier versions.

General
Signature Chooser Choose between a number of different Eudora Light signature files.
Reply to Digest Select a single posting from a mailing list digest and generate a reply.

Anti-spam
Obituary Automatically generate a rejection message for junk mail, with the option to send a copy to the postmaster of the source domain.
Obituary Deluxe A powerful interactive tool for generating rejection messages for electronic junk mail. Scans mail messages to work out who reports should be sent to, and presents options to the user through a dialog interface.
Spam-B-Gone Automatically generate REMOVE messages for spam received. Use is now discouraged, as spammers tend not to honour these requests, but the script is still available as example code.

The Interarchy page also contains a number of scripts designed for use from within Eudora to perform traceroutes, DNS and whois queries, which are useful for identifying the source of spam mail.

These AppleScripts are stored as uncompiled text. You will need to compile them using the Script Editor (or a similar AppleScript editor). In some cases you may need to edit the script in order to configure it for your requirements. Certain scripts may also require additional software such as applications or OSAXen. Read the source code for the script to find out what's needed, and where to get it.
