Comments:

The 'spacecraft' were modelled using Extreme 3D 2.0, mostly out of stretched spheres (create a sphere primitive, simplify it, grab a few control points and distort at will), and metaforms. They're a little strange-looking and tend to work well only from certain angles.

The missiles are built out of Bryce primitives - sphere for the nose, cylinder for the body, and some flattened and rotated cubes for the fins. Quick, small and easy. The contrails behind them are also cylinders, with a cloud texture applied.

The fiery clouds - explosions? - are sphere sets (one of Bryce's little secrets; click just above the cylinder on the Create palette) with a cloud texture applied. This will probably cause me grief in future versions - I should really rebuild them using real spheres to ensure portability. There's a light buried inside the right-hand one, but I'm not sure how much it contributes to the appearance of the cloud, which is probably mainly due to the sun. Lights are also used for whatever the more distant spaceship is 'firing' at its fellow (yeah, why are these two ships, which seem to be of the same class, attacking each other? Or are they? Who's shooting at who?)

There's no particular story or theme to this image. Make one up to suit yourself.
