Waiting for sunrise

[1K/32K]

Some mornings, it seems to take forever for the sun to come up.

Comments:

This image emerged from experimentation with the Costume Shop CD for Poser from Zygote. The CD ships with morph targets which allow more extensive customization of the figures' faces than is possible with the default Poser figures. Playing around got me a slightly sulky, fatigued-looking girl; adding the modern hair style that ships on the CD made her look a bit punky, and a miniskirt and running shoes completed the impression.

My original idea was to have her leaning up against something, perhaps in a gritty urban scene: a bored kid, or a hooker waiting for trade, or something in between. As the scene developed, however, playing around with the sky to get the lighting right led me to a dawn scene and eventually to the sun rising over some black, unearthly-looking crags.

There are three radial lights in the scene - two in glass spheres (one of which is visible), a third hovering overhead to bring out some of the girl's features. The column that the girl leans against is a Booleaned cylinder, and the wall and railing are also made from Bryce primitives.
