Comments:

It pays to exaggerate your terrains. A bit of noodling with the Terrain Editor produced this distinctive peak, which in turn suggested the pyramids below. The canal was added in to improve the composition.

The pyramids are made of primitives - pyramids and blocks - grouped together with a little Booleanizing just to make matters interesting.

I've no idea where the name Skywell came from. It just sounded appropriate. Perhaps it's an unconscious cross between Melenkurion Skyweir (a mountain in Stephen Donaldson's "Thomas Covenant" series) and "Starwell", a very witty SF novel by Alexei Panshin. Perhaps my subconscious has finally turned on me. Who knows? Who cares? Skywell it is.
