The closest figure is a Poser 3 Nude Woman. The woman has been decently dressed with a texture map (it wouldn't do to go into battle naked) but she also wears body armour made using Ray Dream Studio. The body armour was made by taking a low-resolution Poser 2 figure into Ray Dream, hacking away the parts I didn't want with Booleans, blending in other free-form shapes, and tweaking the mesh here and there. During the process I had to reboot my computer so many times I lost count - Ray Dream's Boolean tools are not precisely stable.
The woman's hair is a morphing afro from Zygote, pulled in as tight as possible around her skull. It has been post-edited using Photoshop's smudge tool to make it slightly more hairlike. Some other minor cleanup was also done where bad things had happened to the Poser mesh.
The more distant figures were also made in Poser, but as my scene file was getting large (Bryce crashed a few times too) and figure import is s-l-o-w, I rendered them in Poser and then brought them into the scene as PICT objects.
The figures hold HK-53 assault rifles from the excellent collection of Poser props at GreyLight. The pyramid is also stock: it's the Mayan pyramid terrain from the Objects library in Bryce, painted with an appropriate texture to make it look techno rather than retro. |
