Cleaning up Poser models for import
Last updated: 08.05.2002
When importing Poser models as grouped DXFs to Bryce (for use with
the texturing by subdivision technique),
you may notice that separate parts of the body - for example, the
head and the foot - are treated as if they were a single object. If
you have access to a modelling program, you
can work around this problem by opening the file in that program
and then resaving it. This guide explains how to do this with Ray
Dream Studio.
1 |
Export the figure to be used from Poser. You should
export the figure in 3DMF format, and check the "Export
object groups for each body part" checkbox on the Export
Options dialog.

Open the file in Ray Dream Studio. Check the "Ungroup as
much as possible" checkbox, and set the scale to 1 3DMF unit
equal to 8 feet.

Click on the imported figure to select it, and use the
command to ungroup
the object into its component parts.
|
4 |
Save the model in DXF format. |
The model is now ready to be imported to Bryce.
