The figures are my friends Gottardo and Luglia, from a photograph taken at the Carnevale di Venezia in 1990. I'm sure they won't mind being used in this way.
The caption is from a Jethro Tull song which describes a ruined fortress in the Western Isles. I've never seen the place in question and, unsurprisingly, it looks nothing like this. You can see the real Dun Ringill at www.stonepages.com. The caption was 'retrofitted' to the image anyway, because I needed something that referred to stone circles.
The image of the masked couple was digitized to PhotoCD, touched-up and alpha-channelled in PhotoShop, and imported to Bryce as a PICT. The stones are stretched cube primitives. |
